Our Story

I founded Belesun because I am incredibly passionate about skin protection. I love playing tennis, cycling and running outside. However, my skin burns easily and skin cancer runs in my family. Therefore, I want to be able to protect my skin without using sunscreen, which is often greasy and full of chemicals.
I've always been frustrated as an outdoor tennis player at the lack of comfortable, high-tech clothing that protects the areas of your skin that need it most, specifically your face, ears, neck, chest and arms. Belesun introduces comfortable, lightweight, sweat-wicking clothing without zippers or buttons — this maximizes movement and comfort in hot weather. 
Given the need for comfortable face masks for protection, I decided to use our Belesun fabrics to create reversible, adjustable face masks and neck gaiters that are great for athletes, exercise, and all-day wear.
Belesun is named after the Celtic god of the sun, Belenos.

Our Sun-Protective Fabric

Unlike many Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) clothing that is simply treated with sun protection on top, Belesun UPF fabric has protection and performance woven into the fibers themselves. Through tightly woven fibers, a UPF protection of 50 is achieved and effectively blocks 98% of UVA and UVB rays. These harmful UV rays can go through regular fabric and damage your skin.​​

Additionally, they are chlorine resistant even after 40 washes and color steadfast. Our goal is to keep you cool and comfortable to ensure optimal performance and play with a peace of mind that you're protected!
Belesun's fabric is soft, lightweight and silky smooth. It feels like you're own skin! Our products are designed to be able to take on or off depending on how much protection you need. We only have one set of skin, so let's protect it!
